Today, we started our discussion about culture and food. What is one dish from your culture that is a must-have as a representation of your culture? Identify the dish and explain what it is and why it is significant.

Response: My dad doesn't cook very often but one thing he does make is burgers. Whenever the season is right we will all go out on the deck and have some hamburgers. Whenever we sit out on the deck and have baked beans, watermelon and burgers it feels like we step into those steryotypical suburban American family posters from the 50s.

Summary: We watched a documentary about food culture in New Orleans.

Reflection: I have never been to New Orleans so learning about their food and how that was impacted and has impacted their culture was neat.
