Think about a food from your own culture that you find disgusting, unusual, or simply refuse to eat. What is the food, and why do you dislike it? Is it something that other people in your family or culture enjoy? Explain why you think certain foods can be considered delicious by some people but disgusting by others.

Response: Like I said in my presentation for as long as I can remember I did not like eggs. I found the texture really gross and the taste bland so I refused to eat them. Usually my parents made me eat everything my mom made but they made an exception for eggs. I would always make my own smoothies instead. I don't hate eggs as much as I used to, I'll eat them on occasion in small doses but I still don't really like it.

Summary:  We did more presentation.

Reflection: I thought it was interesting to see so many dishes I had never heard about.

In “Girl” by Jamaica Kincaid, the mother provides her daughter with numerous expectations about how a girl should behave. Reflect on a specific gender expectation within your culture that has been challenging for you to navigate. Then describe one clear example of this expectation and explain why it has been difficult for you. Keep your response concise, vivid, and focused on your personal experience.
